At 19 Paul emigrated to Toronto, Canada from the UK.
Paul attended York University in Toronto reading Geology and Geophysics. In 1990, after finishing University, Paul joined the Insurance industry working his way through motor physical damage, first party injury and bodily injury departments.
Paul has obtained his Chartered Insurance Professional (CIP) designation.
In 1998 Paul became an independent loss adjuster and in 2001, after moving to Calgary, Alberta, Paul moved into management. Working at two major loss adjusting firms, one national and one international, he was responsible for Calgary and Southern Alberta, at any one time managing 15 to 25 people. His responsibilities ranged from the handling of large losses to human resources and business development.
Paul has experience in both personal and commercial lines, handling large commercial liability and property matters. As part of his management duties, Paul has been responsible for and has overseen large commercial account claims handling and the setting up of world wide protocols for the handling of these claims.
In 2008 Paul joined a large international broker as a senior member of the claims team. When the opportunity to work at Braemar Steege arose, Paul decided to move back into the independent adjusting field.
For 25 years Paul has been an enthusiastic member of the Rugby community in Canada, playing at university and club level. After retiring as a player, Paul moved into coaching and helped York Yeoman Women's Rugby Club win several Ontario titles. Many of the team members went on to represent Canada.
After graduating from Process Operations at SAIT in 2000 and attaining his 4th class ABSA steam ticket, Andrew began gaining invaluable operations experience in a variety of industries before completing his 3rd class ABSA steam ticket in 2009. Specifically, areas operated include upstream oil/gas production, gas field compression, gas well optimization, oil battery/gas refineries, electrical generation, distillation, and boiler house operation.
In 2009, Andrew graduated from the University of Calgary and received his B.Sc. in Mechanical Engineering. During work terms, Andrew also gained experience providing support in engineering, procurement, construction, and management (EPCM) roles as well as working in a research development role at EnCana. Since graduation, he took charge of the post distillation process at Alberta Distilleries before incorporating and helping to commission the newest expansion to the Shell Scotford Oilsands Upgrader.
Andrew brings to Braemar Steege a versatile and robust background in operations coupled with an understanding of engineering concepts to help sharpen his skills in industrial related loss adjustment.
Pam obtained a Bachelor of Applied Science in Environmental-Civil Engineering from the University of Waterloo in 2003. Shortly thereafter she moved to Calgary and gained employment as an Environmental Consultant, focusing on contaminated site assessments and has worked on three major Oil Sands projects. Her areas of expertise include environmental site investigations; geotechnical and hydrogeological investigations; operational and maintenance manual writing; and technical reporting.
Pam has performed many site investigations, from desktop review to characterization, monitoring, and remediation, through to technical report production. The type of projects Pam has contributed to include, oil and gas facilities; commercial manufacturing facilities; transportation companies; automobile rental facilities; and dry cleaning facilities. Having performed preliminary and detailed site investigations throughout Alberta, British Columbia, Saskatchewan, and Manitoba, Pam has designed and supervised many site investigation programs.
In 2008, Pam obtained her Professional Engineer designation from APEGGA. Pam brings to Braemar Steege a strong background in contaminated site investigation, coupled with an understanding of environmental engineering concepts.
Heather joined Braemar Steege in March 2008 as Office Manager. During her time with Braemar Steege, Heather has become a licensed Loss Adjuster in Alberta and began working toward her Certified Insurance Professional designation. Heather has worked hand in hand with the Adjusters on each claim and has gained a greater knowledge of the Insurance Industry and loss adjusting.
Prior to her time with Braemar Steege Heather worked in an accounting role and as a Property and Condominium Manager responsible for upwards of 250 units.
Heather graduated from the Southern Alberta Institute of Technology in 2003.
A commercial law graduate, Grant has a decade of experience adjusting energy and marine claims for the International Insurance market. Having worked in four of the Braemar Steege offices Grant has developed a wide range of contacts and an understanding of both the similarities and diversities within the Insurance and energy industries worldwide. A partner in the Braemar Steege Group and a key member of the management team, Grant is responsible for the adjustment of onshore and offshore energy insurance claims, which vary from pumping/transmission stations, gas turbines, power generation, contractors equipment, control of well, operatorĖs extra expense and rig physical damage. In particular, Grant has managed a diversity of claims arising from large Construction All Risk (CAR) programs involving offshore platforms, large field developments, pipeline construction and installation, business interruption, loss of production and delay in start-up.
Grant moved from London (England) to Calgary at the beginning of 2003 where in conjunction with Grant Lloyd he has establish Braemar Steege Ltd. Together they have compiled a team of consultant engineers spanning the various disciplines and have already been appointed as control adjuster for many insurance programs and received instruction to adjust a range of Canadian losses including a multi-million dollar rebuild of a chemical plant, control of well incidents and numerous drilling contractor, operator and contractorĖs property damage claims.
